The Best Sector To Invest In For 2010

A lot of people have been trying to figure out what the best sector to invest in for 2010 is.  Whether you invest in stocks, commodities, real estate or something else, it can be a challenge to figure out where the next big opportunity lies.

In tough financial times when the stock market has seen a big crash recently, it can be scary to think about going back into the market.

Unfortunately, I’m just a “regular joe” when it comes to investing in the stock market.  I buy and hold mutual funds, REITS and a little Berkshire Hathaway.  I didn’t buy into the run-up on gold.  Although I did predict gold would do well in the recession.

Where To Invest In 2010

I have two resources that I would recommend.

1. First – Check out this book:  Yes, You Can Time The Market by Ben Stein – the guy from that funny game show.  It talks about some simple but effective strategies for deciding when to put your money in the stock market.  The idea is that if the market is overpriced, you shouldn’t buy. And if it is under priced, you should.  He even has some great graphs of this on his web page, so you’ll definitely want to take a look.
2. The other resource I have found helpful is Harry Dent.  He is the author of The Great Bubble boom.  He is an economic forecaster and has done a great job helping people know what sectors to invest in, he predicted the crash of the housing market, and he has some very good information that, while slightly general, will give you a much better perspective than the general news on TV.
